Spiritual awakening is a powerful shift, and often during the initial moments and days after awakening, a person can feel intensely open and connected. But then that experience fades, and they return–at least partially–to the reality of the ego self they’ve created and the world in which they live. That return can bring up feelings of loneliness and disconnection.

Some of the loneliness comes from the ego’s desire to find others with similar experiences. True spiritual awakenings are rare, so finding others with that commonality–which is one of the ways the ego is habituated to allowing connection–is often difficult, making the person feel alienated from their current social circles. Some of the loneliness and disconnection is also about being aware of the reality around oneself; much of humanity in Western Society is disconnected from themselves. Discovering disconnection in that way is a matter of seeing the truth where illusions before awakening allowed a person to believe that there were stronger communities and connections that they were apart of than there actually were.

There are additional reasons why these feelings of loneliness and disconnection come up, and I address them in the below recording. I hope the talk is helpful. Feel free to share the link with others.

Enjoy!
