Many people are focused on other people’s egos and what others are doing wrong. But it’s always easier to find the error in another than in ourselves. This is precisely why doing inner work is so important. Turning our attention inwards gives us clarity about who we are and who we are trying to be. This clarity is one of many key tools to help us avoid creating a spiritual ego.
A spiritual ego is nothing more than a mask for deeper desires and fears. It’s a lot easier to create a new identity as an old one dies than to stay in the unknown and delve into core issues and fundamental attachments. This often happens even when someone has a powerful spiritual awakening.
Because of this tendency to cover-up deeper issues, many people end up creating a whole new identity with all kinds of attachments and beliefs. This new identity–even though it considers itself to be spiritual–continues to create suffering for the person and for the people with whom the person interacts. Until we truly let go of our deepest attachments, there is a strong tendency to create another ego that tries to control our experiences and get, avoid, protect, or get rid of the things we desire/fear.
In this recording, I hope to help you go further going inwards and towards spiritual freedom so that you don’t become trapped in a spiritual ego.
Enjoy!
