Ever feel like your spiritual work doesn’t translate to your daily life?
Does it seem like you do the same patterns and habits regardless of how big the spiritual shift is?
Then, it’s time to take another step.
That means intentionally changing the structure of your daily life.
The Regimen is a customized daily plan for helping you to create new behavior patterns and break out of the old lifestyles.
For some people, that means breaking out of traumatizing patterns.
Because the ego is a daily practice.
Everyday, we not only remember who we are, but we feel who we are and we act out who we are.
How we breathe, drink, eat, move, rest, and interact with people are all patterns that reinforce our ego patterns. Changing a few of those things helps us to experience being different in a truly healthy way.
If we remain in the old patterns, then we reinforce false beliefs and unhealthy living situations. This further drives people to additional patterns to cope with, medicate, and numb unresolved issues and attachments.
In essence, daily life is a practice in making ourselves suffer.
Developing A Freeing Discipline
The regimen and the spiritual path asks people to be disciplined/learn discipline.
And if you’re already disciplined? How does the regimen help?
Are you disciplined in the right way with your lifestyle?
Plenty of people are very disciplined, but it’s their ego’s discipline. It’s creating suffering, not freedom. They pound their bodies with exercise everyday for 45 minutes, but it comes from a self-worth issue. That’s not the right kind of discipline.
For some of you, we may have to unlock you from your incorrect discipline and open you up to more free-flow experiences.
In this way, wherever you are, I’m going to meet you.
The regimen is one of the most everyday-spirituality-esque of my spiritual teaching offerings.
I want to also add that this is NOT medical advice. If you have any significant health concerns, be sure to check in with your licensed health practitioner.
I bring this up because the regimen touches on everything including nutrition and physical activity.
Breaking Out of Suffering on an Hourly Basis
In creating a daily regimen, I ask a student to send over an outline of their typical daily life during a work day and and a rest day.
We have a one-on-one session focused specifically on the person’s life style. This is separate from regular sessions that I have with established students.
Then I write an hour-by-hour plan of how you can live in a different way that helps you let go of ego. I target the specific activities that I see as perpetuating ego patterns and impeding well-being. I also offer areas where growth and positive experiences are needed to help a person experience more fully the joy of truly living!
Then, it’s up to you.
The recommended investment is $500 for the session and plan.
We can have additional check-in sessions for my recommended investment of $250 USD per one hour session.

The Regimen Testimonial
A Deeper Sense of Enjoyment and Empowerment
When I first received the email from Jim about the offering of a personalised lifestyle regimen, my stomach dropped and did a flip. I knew that committing to something like this could mean big changes, and I felt a mixture of fear, hope, and excitement. It also felt like a big financial investment, and that alone felt scary.
I have worked with Jim for 6 years now [starting in 2018], and although I have experienced many shifts and transformations, I had been keeping myself stuck within a traumatised lifestyle and ego. I knew that if I was serious about it, this could help me to break free (ahhhh!).
So, I said, “Yes” and agreed to pay the donation amount. The act of donating felt like a symbol of commitment.
It has been 6 months [statement written in October 2024] since I had the initial regimen call and received a written daily plan to follow. I also chose to have two follow-up calls to check-in and make adjustments.
Since implementing the daily regimen, I am feeling more capable, joyful, and empowered than I have ever felt before!
But also, significantly, I feel more free. I am beginning to touch the edges of a new experience of myself and of life, one in which I can do whatever I want to do and be whoever I want to be.
Pushing Edges and Finding Passions
The journey has not been an easy one though. I have had to push through lots of ego upset and drama at times.
For me, the recommendations of the regimen focused on finding inspiration and meaningful engagement in the world as well as building a sense of strength within myself. This has looked like exploring topics that I care about, finding new passions, and increasingly pushing myself in physical activity to see how strong my body can be. Another important aspect for me was finding a steady job which would empower me financially and enable me to be a part of a work community.
My ego didn’t like most of this!
Some bits it disliked even more than others. As someone whose ego has been very invested in feelings of powerlessness and beliefs that my body is unable to work correctly, this was all very confronting to my stories, experiences, and ideas of who I am.
For accountability, I shared what I would be doing with my partner, therapist, and community members (I am in one of Jim’s ‘Spiritual Refuge’ communities). My therapist helped me to move through some of the resistances to the regimen and gave me tools to integrate new experiences of myself and the world.
In and Out of Spiritual Backsliding
But still, my ego got upset and did what it could to try and sabotage.
This could look like backsliding into old unsupportive lifestyle habits or falling into feelings of despair. Physical manifestations of resistances were experienced in my body as unpleasant physiological symptoms.
Each time this happened, the practices of coming back to awareness and re-committing to the regimen and myself were essential. It also helped that I was developing a stronger body through the vigorous physical activity prescribed by the regimen, which boosted my emotional resilience to keep moving forward.
Dropping Ego Fears and Projections
At this current point, 6 months on, I am beginning to experience a greater detachment from my thoughts, sensations, and ideas about myself. I have had some big fears and projections drop.
Externally, I have been offered a steady job with a decent income, and my body is more muscular and enduring. Additionally, I have been exploring new passions outside of my ego’s usual interests; most notably, on the topic of birds. I have plans to visit nature reserves and wetland centres to deepen my curiosity further.
Internally, I am seeing my ability to choose joy and empowerment over the old misery and victimhood. These new internal experiences will need to be chosen again and again. They require constant re-enforcing by:
- making a conscious choice to go towards them rather than the old patterns,
- breathing well, and
- practicing new ways of interacting with others.
The important part is, I am now feeling powerful and motivated enough TO choose. The regimen gave me a structured way of building a deeper enjoyment of life and sense of belief in myself, which has enabled this determination and will for greater freedom.
One of Her Greatest Gifts to Herself
My advice to those who are considering asking Jim for a personalised lifestyle regimen is to take the leap and go for it. Your ego may tell you that you’re going to ruin your life; you can’t trust the recommendations; or whatever other protests it likes to make. The truth is, it will be a simple, practical plan based on where you are at and what lifestyle changes make sense for you.
Reaching out and asking for help is a blocker for a lot of people. But why try and figure it all out on your own? There is someone there who has walked the path, helped countless others, and knows through experience what works.
You can ask for help.
It makes sense to.
A foundation for living that is more vibrant and life-sustaining than you could ever have imagined is what awaits you on the other side of your courage and commitment. You just have to be willing to step into the unknown and move through your own discomfort to see what is on the other side.
Advice to Those who Do the Regimen
Do :
- Share what you are doing with partners, friends, therapists, community members, or anyone else who can hold you accountable and support you.
- Pick yourself back up again and keep re-committing whenever you backslide (and you will).
- Have compassion for yourself and recognise what you are doing is hard, but possible.
The regimen is one of the greatest things I have ever done for myself, and it is my genuine hope that more people take Jim up on his offering.
