One ego argument that derails so many people is this:
“But I’ve already worked on this issue.”
It’s an ego argument that is inherently defensive and typically is part of an ego-hider construct.
There are also ego-fighter/fixer, ego-runner/flight, ego-freeze, and ego faint/check out mechanisms that we employ every day to “protect” ourselves. They trap us in suffering instead.
Invariably, other ego issues are entangled in this argument such as fear of looking and finding an unwanted truth or unwanted pain, self-worth issues, fear of failure, fear of admitting past tools have been failures/wastes of time, and more.
Remember: the truth can always take another hard look.
Stand in the Light of Transformational Success
When people have cleared an issue intellectually, emotionally, and from the body, they’re happy to talk about it.
They don’t close the door.
They invite people into the room.
They’ll chew my ear off about getting that issue out the door, how much more space is here, and what they hope to do with that space now.
They can tell me in incredible detail about what it meant to go into the room, deal with the old furniture (aka attachments), and the confusion about no longer having the issue.
So if you ever hear the words coming out of your mouth or looping in your mind that you’ve already done something, look deeper.
The objection is a misdirection.
Don’t be fooled.
