Firstly, I don’t know Mackenzie Scott.

If you haven’t heard her name and how she’s giving away billions of dollars, I encourage you to watch the following 2026 segment about her donations to historically black colleges and universities.

I don’t know the type of person she is, nor have I had one conversation with her. I am not pretending to have any connection to her or am attempting to paint her as any particular type of person.

In our modern culture, we like to aggrandize and demonize people. We also presuppose that we know them better than we do.

I have experienced plenty of this. I’ve had so many projections plastered on me–good, bad, weird, sexual, and everything else.

It’s not fun.

I am not intending that when I mention Mackenzie. She is who she is. Hopefully, she’s truly doing her best.

What I am appreciating in this blog post is someone who gives to help others to succeed.

How Money Should Move

On a larger level, this is how money should move. It should move like the body moves blood. The heart and brain don’t keep it all.

They move it.

That allows the whole body to live well.

It’s also not okay if tiny capillaries or cells hold on and stop giving.

At any level where we hold on and forget the flow of giving and receiving, harm is done.

Appreciation for Mackenzie’s Billions Give-away

Like I said, this is a post in appreciation for someone who is using money as a tool to help others.

I encourage you to consider how you intentionally help money to flow into and out of your life.

For more thoughts on consciously using money, you can read this post.

This post is “food for thought” about the prevalence of hunger.

And this post helps you to remember the importance of self-less service.
